Our Creative Director and Head of Copy, Ryan Wallman, gave a keynote presentation at last week’s ZEE Melt conference, alongside some of the marketing industry’s biggest names. His presentation, ‘Fighting words: why clear language matters’, included practical tips and numerous examples to demonstrate the importance of clear writing in marketing communications.
Ryan noted that copywriting relies on understanding people and using language that connects with them. He cited research to show that even in settings such as healthcare, where the audience may be highly educated, clear and simple writing is still more effective. Ryan concluded that if you can make your copy clear, you will not only engage your audience but also stand out from your competitors.
